Can’t Sleep At Night

Many people find themselves sleep deprived, depleted and exhausted. We live intense lives, and it’s not uncommon to hear people saying that they can’t sleep at night. But often we don’t take the time to look into why? We often simply accept our situation and deal with it with caffeine and acceptance of the misery.

But there really are a few things to look at when you find that night after night, you simply cannot sleep. Ask yourself a couple of questions.

First question; What am I putting into my body?

Many will be loading themselves with caffeine and sugar, as well as energy drinks and so forth to keep themselves going though the day and cope with their exhaustion. The problem with this is it amps up their blood pressure, ruins their metabolism, and causes their body’s natural rhythms to be out of sync. Basically, diet plays a huge factor in lack of sleep.

Second question; Am I overweight?

Along with the diet is taking the time to look at our overall health. Obesity, right along with what was mentioned with the first question, plays a huge factor in loss of sleep. The slower the metabolism, the harder time you’ll have getting real and deep rest, and having the energy to get through the next day with vigor.

With obesity comes sleep apnea as well. During sleep the heart rate and breathing patterns are so low and slow that it not only inhibits the quality of the sleep, but be fatal.
